When Carolyn told me Nathan, a soldier currently serving overseas, was coming home on leave for a couple of weeks I was so excited for her! Living on two different sides of the world from your spouse can be really hard! I know this first hand from when my husband was stationed in South Korea for the 7 months before we joined him. Nathan couldn't have come at a better time because we just happen to be right in the middle of Poppy Season! Every spring, the Franklin mountains up near Transmountain Road are covered in the little yellow flowers. The mountains are already one of my favorite locations for portrait sessions, but the poppies make it a little extra special.
It warmed my heart to see my dear friend so happy to be reunited with her hubby, and even more so that I had the chance to capture these photos for them. I know it will be all too soon that he will have to return to his duties, but for now Carolyn holds these moments close to her heart.
We had a lot of fun being silly out in the desert, and I'm sure you will see that in their photos! Check out their slideshow below!
